The cutest boy on the block

Questions: Is my sweet, 5 month old nephew the cutest baby on the block?
Answer: Totally, even though he has Little Richard hair (he can't help that his growth can't keep up with his head growth).

What's my problem?

I must have too much time on my hands because I have been painting and re-painting my nails like crazy lately! It's like I can't find something better to do. What's my problem?

Here is what they look like today. Tomorrow, that's a different story!

What I Wore

I wore this outfit to work last week. I've had the cardigan for 2 or 3 years, but I just got the a couple of weeks ago. I bought it because I think this is the kind of dress you can wear almost anywhere. If I added gold strappy sandals and a gold belt, I could wear it to a wedding. If I wore silver flats and a bright belt, I could wear it casually. Obviously, I can wear it to work. The possibilities seem to be endless. Plus, it was $13.98. Even if I wear it twice I'll get my money's worth. I'm not exactly a trendsetter in this dress, but I like it. What do you think?

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

I'm linking up with Kati and Kate for GBU - the good, the bad, and the ugly of the weekend. Hop over to their blogs and check them out.

Here are my GBU...

The good:I got to spend tons of time with my husband and my family this weekend. Love!

Love date nights!

The bad:We found out our new (as in just built June 2012) house and a roof leak. It's so frustrating!

New house = leaky roof

The ugly: We STILL do not have cable and internet. The cable company says we have a hookup date of August 6, which means we will have been without cable and internet for 2 months! It's driving me to drink!

This is me being driven to drink

Husbands are fun

Like I've said before, Kris works a lot. Weekends are especially busy at his work, and we don't see each other much. This past weekend, however, was a rare jewel. Kris was off Friday and Sunday, and we had such a great time together. I kept thinking, "this must be what it feels like to be married." Having a husband is so fun! I think I'll keep him.

High Five For Friday!

It's the most wonderful day of the week! Throw your hands in the air, raise the roof, shake your booty, or do whatever dance move you do when you're excited.

Today, I'm linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk Blog for High Five For Friday. Here are my 5 favorite things of the week.

1. Saw this on Monday and knew it would be a good week
2. Had my rings cleaned yesterday and I don't think they've ever been this sparkly
3. Santa Sock Monkey lost both of his arms this week. Bourke insists he has no idea how it happened.
4. The last of the boxes went into the attic this week. Yay!
5. How cool are these towels?

Nightly Skincare Routine

Here's how I show my skin love every night. Note, I do not have face wash listed. I take my showers at night, so my face gets washed then. I don't really consider that part of my "nightly routine." (Click here to read about beauty products I love, here to read about my makeup routine, and here for healthy skin tips.)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...I have very oily, very sensitive skin. I'm finally in a relationship with my skin that is not toxic. My routine works for me; it may not work for you. I'm interested to hear what you've found that works for you. I think the main thing with skin care (but, I'm no dermatologist) is making sure you keep your skin clean and moisturized. It took me years to realize that even oily skin needs moisture.

On a side note, I'm thinking about doing a giveaway. If I did, would you guys be interested?

1. Clinique Clarifying Lotion Number 4. I use this all over my (clean) face and neck.
2. Clinique Dramatically Moisturizing Gel. I use this immediately after 1. all over my face and neck.
3. Josie Maran Argon Oil. I use this before I go to bed under and around my eyes.
4. Bare Minerals Pure Transformation Night Treatment.I use this after 4. sinks into my skin lightly dusted over my face.
5. MAC Prep+Prime Future Length Lash Serum. I use this after 5. on the growth line of my top lashes.
6. C.O. Bigelow My Favorite Night Balm. I use this before I go to bed all over my lips.

Let's talk about eyebrows

So, I'll get right to it. Do you fill in your eyebrows? I never used to, but I started about a year ago. Now I feel naked without eyebrows. I have my mother to thank for the extra minute it takes me to get ready. (Pic of her posted below, isn't she gorge?!)

I always thought eyebrow filler was only for people with thin brows. Not true. Eyebrows frame the face and set off the eyes. They are like window treatments...you don't need them, but they sure do make the room look nice. Let's get it straight, I do have eyebrows and they are not thinning at all.

I have very dark hair naturally, so my eyebrows are practically black. I use MAC eyeshadow in mystery to fill in my brows with a slanted eyeliner brush. (I also use this color to line my eyes.) The difference between filled and unfilled brows is subtle, but, in my opinion, the filled brow looks more polished. What do you think?

And don't judge me by the first picture. It was taken about 10 minutes after I woke up, which explains the pajamas and tired eyes.

Here goes nothing...

This is my first try at setting my camera on a timer for pictures instead of taking them in the mirror. It might take a me while to find the right place to take pictures, so be patient with me. I'm trying.

I took these yesterday in our bedroom. Yes, you do see my mirror propped up on boxes. We're not exactly at the "hanging things on the wall" stage yet. Fingers crossed we'll get to that soon!

The Outfit You Aren't Supposed To See

I always post outfits I've worn to work or out to dinner. I never post outfits I wear when I'm just being a normal person. You're not supposed to see me in comfy, casual clothes. You're not supposed to know that I do anything but sit around being fabulous. Oh how I wish that were true! Today, I'm taking a break from fabulous and I'm grocery shopping, cleaning my house, and doing a little painting. Here's what I'm wearing. Don't judge me.

Shorts: J.Crew Spring 2008 (yikes!)
Shoes: Toms Winter 2009

High Five for Friday!

It's the weekend, baby! I'll be spending mine by the pool. Well, probably not because it's supposed to rain, but it's the thought that counts, right?

1. I don't have an organization problem
2. Trying my hand at this DIY project

I'm just not that into me

Today, I'm just not that into me. I don't have the zeal for life that I normally carry with me. I woke up 20 minutes late because I couldn't make myself get out of bed. I had no outfit selected to wear to work. I hated every piece of clothing in my closet. I was (and probably still am) in a generally bitchy mood. (That being said, I have not taken my self-loathing out on anyone else.) The only thing I had going for me was the fact that my hair didn't need a lot of attention, which is good because it probably wasn't going to get much.

Naturally, with an attitude like the one I'm donning today I felt the need to be super casual. Here are a couple of pics of what I'm wearing today. I have on a boyfriend cardigan, a t-shirt dress, a braided belt, and tennis shoe style flats. I think you'll be able to tell by the look on my face just exactly how I'm feeling! If only it was appropriate to have a mimosa before going to work! Then I'm sure I'd be in a much better mood!
