Bourke is home!

Our sweet Bourke got to come home! We are so happy to have him back with us after 3 days in the animal hospital.  We found out he has diabetes, and we are trying to figure out how to be parents to a diabetic dog. Our schedules are going to require adjusting, but he's so worth it. Our home is not complete without him!

I got Bourke when I was a junior in college 7 years ago. This before Kris and I even knew each other. He's my original baby.

I need these

I need these shoes. Yes, need. I'd been longing for them since Toms debuted ballet flats this spring. Now, they're in the "last chance" section and the likelihood that I get them is getting slimmer and slimmer. So, Kris, if you're reading this post buy them for me please.

Style Statement Tuesday

I LOVE this outfit! I feel like it fits my Classic Pretty style statement.

I was able to do the colored denim trend in a way that didn't compromise my personal style. By adding a classic button up and sweater to the blush pink jeans I felt totally like myself.

How'd you do this week?

Sorry guys, I don't have a new and exciting post for you today. My sweet dog, Bourke, is in the hospital. I'm being a good dog mom and focusing on him.

High Five for Friday

It's Friday and I'm linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk. Here are my five happy things from the week.

1. I got a new pen. It writes in pink. I'm in love.
2. Diet Coke and Jesus Christ are the only things that got me through this week.
3.This baby is coming to live at my house.
4. I will be singing Rocky Top tomorrow!
5. Are these 2 becoming friends? Only time will tell.

Let them eat (cup)cakes!

If eating cupcakes and drinking champagne is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

Like my good friends at Rue la la reminded me, life is too short not to eat cake. Happy Wednesday!

Half-Marathon: on your mark, get set, go!

In 2009 when I was in my first year of law school (and 24 years old), I competed in a half marathon. I was really into running for some reason that's now escaped me. Finishing that half marathon is one of my proudest moments. After I ran that half marathon I completely stopped running. I'm not really sure why.

Well folks, I gotten the itch to run another half marathon.I don't know if it's because I'm getting older (I'll be 28 for this one), or because I need a hobby, or some other unknown reason. Regardless, I've decided to share my training experience with you. I'm hoping you guys keep me on track and keep me honest.

The half marathon is April 27, 2013. It's the St. Jude Country Music 1/2 Marathon in Nashville. You may be wondering why I'm not running the Covenant Health Knoxville 1/2 Marathon given that I live in Knoxville. Well, it's because Knoxville is hella hilly, and it's still a little cold in March. What can I say? I'm a finicky runner.

I'll be using Jeff Galloway's 8 Week Conditioning Program to start. I'll work my into his Half Marathon Training Program. Are you ready? On your mark, get set, go!
