Style Statement Tuesday

Welcome to Style Statement Tuesday!

If you're new here, Style Statement Tuesday is way for me to chronicle my outfits and discuss how/if they fit my style statement, which I've defined as 'Classic Pretty.' It's also a place for you to link-up  your outfit posts and inspirations. To read more about Style Statement Tuesday, click here.

This week's outfit is something I would (and have) worn to work. I work in a very relaxed environment where it's OK for me to be business casual. Who am I kidding? Casual casual is fine, too!

Skirt & Tee: Target; Clutch: Gap; Bangles: J.Crew; Shoes: Old Navy
I like that the skirt has a classic silhouette in a trendy polka dot print. I think a pencil skirt is flattering on a woman's body, but sometimes they can feel old. This definitely feels sophisticated, but young.

This t-shirt top is great, but you could also add a button-up or the lace top from this post and it would work, too. I added a bright bag and bangles to punch it up a bit. I chose neutral shoes to keep it work appropriate and because I feel like they are more 'Classic Pretty.'

I am loving today's outfit, so simple yet chic. I have pieces like yours in my closet, including a Bright Pink Clutch, so I am going to re-create it soon. Love the clutch & bracelets by the way.

  6. You are so right, the fun polka dots make that skirt more youthful than a straight up plain one. It doesn't feel corporate at all!

  9. Great outfit. I think it just goes to show that the simplest things (a plain white tee) can look fantastic when you have the right fit!

  10. Target is my favorite place to go to for trendy budget finds. This polka dot skirt is no exception. But I think the hot pink clutch is my favorite part of this look!! Found you via the Style Elixir linkup! :)
